Jura: Holy Smoke

This last weekend I discovered what has quickly become one of my favorite single malt scotchs.  While Jura does not have the right peaty kick that I love in Talisker, it is simply a smooth customer when it comes to the combination of taste and aggressiveness.  At only 35 per bottle I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try a less commercialized bottle of scotch.

My review is posted here.

Say it Heavy Handed or Like Ah-nold - Left Hand Milk Stout and Spaten Optimator

Well I've had these two beers in the last two days, so I thought I would add them to the Craft Beers section.  Just a brief review/summary on both - and I highly recommend to try 'em both as soon as you can (but not after eating a full meal because these beers are like NFL nose tackles - they eat up space and let you know about it!)

Happy Friday and Good Weekend!

First Reviews - Rye and Lakefront Brewery's Riverwest Stein Beer

I sent out a request for reviews a little while ago and wasn't sure what kind of response I would get...and just when one half of my brain looked at the other and went "hmmm it sure is dark in here..." I received my first reviews.

One is posted here: Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof.

At an author's recommendation I have also amended the review template to including quaffing or drinking notes that can include if you drink it over ice, with water, in what kind of glassware, and at what temperature.
